PEOPLE BEHIND THE SCENES
KITTY CHU
As founder of the Eureka Traveling Company, Kitty Chu has been the starting engine of the company’s success. After her graduation from Yale and acceptance into Google, Chu left her job to establish the company along with the help of Cindy Liu and Matthew Lee: the president and vice-president of the association. Throughout the long and hard years, Kitty has shown compassion and work integrity toward her workers and family members. Not only founder of the establishment, she is as well an ambassador who has traveled the world presenting charity work, donations, and the spreading of the corporation’s name. Previously, Chu served as a member for multiple other companies such as Rawrter, Samsung, and Valuated to help with a few technical issues they came across. During her interview with ABC, Chu stated, “I work partly for myself, but it’s more for my children; I keep a collection of pictures on my desk to keep me motivated to work harder”. The founder of the company enjoys running marathons, having participated in many such as the Boston Marathon and the Los Angeles Marathon. After moving from her birthplace in Monterey Park, Kitty recently moved to San Marino and currently resides there with her loving husband and her three children. |
MATTHEW LEE
Matthew Lee is the president of the Eureka Traveling company. He plays a critical role, allowing the corporation and office to run smoothly. In 1993, Matthew came out of Temple City High School with honors, and in 1997 he graduated from UCSD with flying colors, and joined this very establishment six months later. Mr. Lee became a largely-known businessman and has caused the vacation site to become world-famous after the recession of 18 years due to its successful endeavors with his partner help. Not only has he nurtured the foundation of the company, but his abilities allowed the staff at Eureka Traveling company to experience extraordinary years and has provided business expertise in the Southwestern region of the United States. Matthew Lee, who has been a working man for 22 years (part-time working in university), has served on several boards and committees such as: American Foundation, Holiday Travel Resorts, Bookface, and for the popular market: Pi Ranch market. When asked about his work, Lee has replied, “whenever I work at places I’m fairly new at, I have the grateful thought of being able to be part of a working style and habit of a talented group”. The significant man enjoys recreational activities such as tennis or soccer, having played both sports semi-professionally in his high school years. Not to mention, Lee treasures the time spent with his son, who is currently a high school freshman, and daughter, a seventh-grade teenager. He often travels to local areas near Los Angeles, such as San Marino or Arcadia. However, he does not despise traveling farther away from the state. With the occasional desire to bake, the staff has the gratitude of sampling his baked goods. Lee currently resides in Temple City, California, with his wife and two kids. |
CINDY LIU
After graduating from UC Irvine in 1997 with a degree in Business Administration, Liu immediately joined the Eureka Traveling Company, working alongside Matthew Lee and Kitty Chu as the founders of the company. With her dedication to the task at hand, along with her enthusiasm and perseverance to thrive, she has contributed greatly to this company’s success. While she helps out at her husband’s company, the lesser-known company of Travelers’ Dedication, she commits two hundred times more to the work at Eureka than otherwise. Her desire to help people has taken her over the world, volunteering and contributing to the people in need. Liu enjoys many recreational activities, such as ice skating and the occasional desire to play tennis, but she often times tends to prefer more artistic ways to spend her leisure time. As an exceptional cellist and composer, Cindy enjoys writing music in her spare time. She currently resides in Arcadia, California, with her husband and dog, Tim. |
ALVIN CHAN
In the summer of 2007, Alvin Chan joined Eureka Traveling Company. He graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Travel Services, Hospitality, and Tourism. His experiences in traveling, along with his dedication to the team, has made him a major contributor to the association. When asked about his working management, Chan has told media he “doesn’t work because it’s mandatory”. Instead, he has stated: “it’s kind of like something that I enjoy more often than usual, almost as if my work is just another level in a video game”. His favorite hobbies include swimming in his house pool and drawing pieces of art, due to the fact that he acquires inspiration for his pieces through the places previously visited. Often times, he would even watch street painters paint admirable landscapes in hopes to learn from them. He wishes to make more pieces of art-work as he travels to new cities and seeks attractions. He currently lives in Temple City with his wife and two children. |
